The Four Masters Plot Will Eventually Become A Metro Station
The community fought for decades just to get the padlocks off the gates of this tiny, historic "green lung." Now that the gates are finally open, the reward is that the park will be used as a heavy construction pit. The protected Victorian cast-iron railings, the Four Masters High Cross, and the extinguished Healing Hands bronze sculpture will all be completely uprooted and hauled away into storage while the state digs a massive underground station box—completely ignoring the other multi-million euro station box sitting empty just a hundred metres away under the hospital.

What happens when you strip away lightning-fast autofocus and digital lens corrections? To find out, I took the ultra-compact Voigtländer 15mm f/4.5 Super Wide Heliar III E-mount out for an unfiltered, random test run through the South Inner City of Dublin. Publishing the images exactly as shot—complete with severe wide-angle perspectives and the occasional accidental appearance of my left thumb—this experiment became an immediate masterclass in the mechanics of manual, ultra-wide street photography. From learning how to intentionally weaponise 110-degree edge distortion to mastering hyperfocal distance on high-resolution modern mirrorless sensors, this review breaks down how Cosina's classic Japanese precision glass behaves in unpredictable urban environments. We also compare its rugged, drop-tested integrated metal hood against the frustratingly loose plastic design of the Zeiss Batis ecosystem for active street documentation.
