The Northern Ireland Parliament Building, commonly known as Stormont, is a magnificent and symbolic edifice situated in the Stormont Estate in Belfast. Designed by Sir Arnold Thornely, a Liverpool-based architect, in a Greek Classical tradition, the building was officially opened by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) on 16th November 1932.
