THE POND AT THE BOTANIC GARDENS

EXPLORING THE POND AREA OF THE BOTANIC GARDENS [DUBLIN 3 MAY 2025]

The main pond, located in a rather central part of the Gardens, serves several purposes. Firstly, it's aesthetically pleasing, reflecting the surrounding trees and sky, and adding a sense of depth and visual interest to the landscape design. It often features marginal and aquatic plants, carefully chosen to thrive in the water and around its edges, contributing to the biodiversity of the area. You might spot various water lilies with their elegant floating leaves and blooms during the warmer months, as well as reeds and rushes providing habitat for insects and perhaps even small amphibians.
