Richard Crosbie's Flight:
In 1785, he launched a hydrogen balloon from Ranelagh Gardens in Dublin.
His flight took him from Ranelagh to Clontarf. This achievement occurred relatively soon after the first manned balloon flights by the Montgolfier brothers in France, highlighting Crosbie's pioneering spirit.
He also did experimental flights with animals prior to his manned flight.
