THE RESIDENCE OF THE CANADIAN AMBASSADOR

THE RESIDENCE OF THE CANADIAN AMBASSADOR

THE RESIDENCE OF THE CANADIAN AMBASSADOR [OAKLEY ROAD DUBLIN]

As of March 3, 2025, Dennis King has been appointed as Canada's next Ambassador to Ireland.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Premier of Prince Edward Island. His experience in public service is expected to strengthen the already strong ties between Canada and Ireland.

The relationship between Canada and Ireland is historically strong, rooted in deep cultural and people-to-people connections.

A significant portion of the Canadian population has Irish ancestry, which reinforces these ties. Specifically, it is noted that over 4.4 million Canadians, or 12 per cent of the population, claim at least partial Irish ancestry.

The two nations cooperate on various fronts, including: Strengthening transatlantic security.
Growing economies through trade and investment. Addressing climate change and reducing emissions. Working together to build a better future. There are active embassies in each nations capital cities. Canada has an embassy in Dublin, and Ireland has an embassy in Ottawa, with additional consulates in key Canadian cities.

It is clear that the relationship between these two nations is very strong, and that the appointment of Dennis King is meant to make that relationship even stronger.
